Angry UPDATE: "Maybe this will do"

So I'm picking up where I left off on my last post... Please Refer to this link for detailed info: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...ill-do-it.html

So they put a new "Ford" injector in my truck because thats what they diagnosed the problem to be... My buddy at the dealership called to let me know that the truck was done, BUT it still had a miss and smoked a little! After I got off work I went to pick up my truck, and now it has a worse miss and smokes just as much as it did before. So I told the "Service Advisor" That i was not happy with what they had done and I want it to be looked into further since they didn't fix my truck. The only difference between before and now is that my SES light wasnt on when I left the dealership tonight. She sadi for me to drive it and bring it back in the morning to talk to the tech since he had already gone home. So I left the dealership in my truck missfiring and smoking and drove to the autoparts store to return the bad injector that they had sold me.
I leave the parts store go to the bank to deposit some cash, leave the bank to drive it home and half way there my F@#$%^& SES light comes back on!!!!! So I pull over get out my bully dog to read the code and what do I get....... 308!!!!!!! At no point does any of this make any sence to me. I obviously have a bigger or stupider problem then the #8 injector, but what els is there that would make it throw that code?!?!?! I guess tomarrow morning I will take my truck back there throw the keys at them and tell them to figure it out. At this point I will be sure to inform them that I have no intent on paying for more diagnosing because now it is their fault.

ANYONE with some more insight please reply!!!! I am at my witts end and can not afford (mentally or financially) anymore things to go wrong...

As always thanks to everyones help and support...

Nolan,

I think you need a little couch time with a professional and I'm not talking about a hooker, although that would probaly work near as well but they charge more per hour. Besides the way you've been gettin' screwed lately you don't need a hooker. You gotta find a way to mellow out. Hang tough.

Nolan,

My answer to your last question copied from the other thread:

<TABLE><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=top width="100%">Quote:

Don't recall hearing that one. If it relates to injectors might you mean IDM, Injector Drive Module. That is what the dealer would want 800 for. It is controlled by the PCM and in turn supplies 115 to 120 Volts to actuate the injectors. I could be wrong on that voltage but not by much. This is another ebay item that can be had used but tested for 1/4 the price of the dealer.
</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

Nic- I have replaced the UVCH. I didnt that first hoping it was the problem... Thanks for the idea

Robin- You are correct my brain has been spinning and has just now slowed down a little bit. It was the IDM that he was talking about. But at this point it sounds like he is playing a guessing game, with my $$$

If they think they are going to get me for another $800 I will point and laugh at them. As long as he is playing a guessing game he can pay for it. What does the IDM look like and wheres it located? Any other ideas anyone???

Without my having to look it up, what is the 308 again and what started this? Bad idle or knock or something? That other thread is full of a lot of unrelated fun, but not useful info. I cannot remember the original problem.

Mike-308= #8 Injector drive circuit/#8 misfire detected... I have never had any problems with my truck until they changed my CPS. But I figure now that has nothing to do with it. It all started with a little smoking in the morning. Then got worse and worse.

OK. The # 8 is a tuffy at times. At any rate it shouldn't be setting off the dash light. That is not good. They need to fix that. Like you didn't know that.

I agree with ron, this has been going around the web for quite a while that the new cps can cause a miss and #8 injector code--you need a spare cps anyway, so have them swap it out for another one, and if it cures the problem..................I'd approach them for a refund for all the other work/diagnostics they have done.

So the idiot tech still cant figure out what the problem is and he wants to pull the head... I asked well why didnt you do a leak down test when you had it apart before??? And I also found out that when he did the compression test he didnt have a shradder valve on the hose so he wasnt to sure if the compression was ok at cranking... I told him thats fine and dandy if he wants to pull the heads but dont send me the bill...

Is the compression good on #8?
Does the misfire clear up if you get out on the highway?

he counted his cmopression test as inconclusive because of the shradder valve. He said it was around 200 psi i think but that was only one crank of the engine.
It runs better when it warms up... And cant really notice a miss when at cruising speeds But it gotten worse at idle
