Certified so that I am now able to offically call myself a proffesional operator and work on any Union site as a operater. The one guy at United Rentals took a course and now he is able to administer the tests.
Any delivery driver delivering equipment must be certifiably reconized.

The way I understood it, is that this certification is good in Canad for the next 3 years. On occasion I will be doing deliveries to nothern Manitba and central Alberta.

its good that you're getting proper training!! too many yards, rental places have poorly trianed staff and it often is a liability!!

I also learned today out of 14 guys there 7 have their 1A's and 3 used to have their 1A's but they have moved on to Sales, front desk or mechanics

I also learned about 5 months ago the driver in the semi ripped one of those newwer small Dodge vans like a soup can with the tail end of the trailior turning right.

Sales would be guys who go around to constructions sites like Company Reps. Front desk is front desk (walkin customers and phone calls). A mechanic is a person who uses tools to repai/maintain equip....... lol
