I know this isnt a mustang forum, but the ones ive been on i cant find anything good, so ill give this a shot. I'm trying to figure out if a quarterpanel for a 67 mustang coupe can be used for a 67 fastback as well (provided it will only be from the main body line on the quarter and below). I've called every mustang store in the nation and none of them seem to know. Mustangs unlimited's website says that they can be modified to fit, but when i called them they had no idea. Anyway, any help here would be appreciated, i really only need the lower part (patch panels not quite enough though), and i dont want to spend over 400 bucks on a full 67 QP if i only need a 100 buck part. thanks guys
They'll work just fine. I'm finishing up a set on a 67 GT Fastback at the moment and we ordered ours through Mustangs Unlimited. Just make sure they have the recesses for the simulated brake vents is the only thing but the ones they show in the pic and the ones we orderd have everything they way they need to be. I'd also suggest that if you are putting new outer wheelhouses on the car, make sure you fit everything as a mockup before you start welding anything in place. Our inners aren't the best fit and that's where I had to make some mods.
thats great to know. thanks for the help. Are the body lines exactly the same though? I really want to make sure it wont look any different. Is there any pictures you might have of this from your 67 GT? I'd really like to see them, and the process of this if at all possible. please let me know
The lines are exactly the same as far as panel alignment, as far as the pics. I haven't been as thorough on the photo album on this one as I'd like to be being that it's an in house car vs. a true customer car. I've been patching and sectioning in what I've needed so far rather than go through all the work of replacing the whole quarter. Normally I'd go ahead and do the full but this car is on a pretty tight time frame. I do have some pics and will be taking more later in the week. If you want you can add me on yahoo. Indy_hotrodfanatic is my tag on there and I'll give you the link to my photobucket.
