Might sound funny, but I have two sets. One from Harbour Freight and one from a different cheap tool dealer. They are the only ones I use. Both less than $30.

I planned on using my forge to re-temper them when I bought 'em (I just assumed they wouldn't be hard enough) but haven't needed to yet.

They're body hammers and you really don't ever hit anything with them very hard. The chinese metal is holding up pretty well, and for the price, if they start to wear I'll just replace 'em. I've had the one set for about five years now. The HF ones are two years old. I don't use them everyday or anything, but i've done work on about five cars with the HF ones. No chips or dents in 'em yet.

I'm all for buying good tools, when I need them. But if cheap ones work, there's just more money for the trucks.

For $500 bucks, I'd fire my forge up and make you a set myself

I like the Martin brand. Eastwood has them and you can get a good set around 100 bucks i think. Check out autobody tooll mart they have some good sets too. You dont need to get a lot of differant hammers. I work with a guy whos been doing body work for 30 years and has had 2 body hammers. You will need a good selection of dollys. Start with a multy purpose one then get the others as you need them. Good luck, Justin
