I`m not sure what you mean by that... of course there`s no such thing as a car club that suits everyone.
I`ve always considered the Draggins to be the premier and the most visible car club in Saskatoon. They`re well organized, the only club to put on a major indoor car show and the only club with a fully equipped large modern club operated shop available to members.
The politics are simple, be a good member, keep you nose clean, attend the meetings and be supportive of the club. If your an obnoxious jerk then you`ll have to go away!
While I`m not a car club type of guy I have alot of respect for a fine car club that has been around since 1957.

They are having trouble filling the show with even cars. Some of the members use their own cars as fillers for cancelations. The member I work with said they had too much repeated displays there. Like the Carmeros and mustangs. Also to some people it seems to be the same stuff as the year before. So he is taking some of my comments back to the club. I told him I usually skip a year or two, because the shows look the same as the previous year.
The other thing is, you can get too many venders there also. I liked when they had model contests for kids and adults. They should bring that back. They need to get some other displays where persons can maybe interact in the show. Like have your photo in a old rat rod or Jalopy. I remeber they did this once out at Sask Place . I still have the picture of my daughter in the stock car. Mind you that was only with the stock cars.

Interesting information.
I like the idea of a model competition for kids and adults. Other shows elsewhere run them, gets younger kids into the "car scene" early and they can feel part of something.
I don't mind the vendors, just don't have too many of the same.

Well this is just from what I have heard through the grapevine. But apparantly the club isnt that great to be apart of. Supposedly they accept certain kind of people. Now I dont know exactly what that is supposed to mean thats jsut what I have heard.

I myself dont care to support the club for different reasons. I have no intereste in being a member, the car shows seem to be all the same, and getting worse and worse every year(thats somewhat unfair since I havent gone for a few years now). I dont care to support the causes they support, i prefer to support different causes.

To me it doesnt matter how long the club has been around for either. More of a personal choice I guess. I really dont personally have anything against them.

thats the whole purpose of a club isn't it?? if there's no stipulations or criteria needed to be a member then the whole public could join and its no longer a club...

Well the purpose of that club is supposed to have to dow ith cars, not what "kind" of person you are.

I can see if your an @55hole that they wouldnt want ya, but thats supposedly not the case here.

The draggins use to be very picky on who could be members. At one time theonly members were persons with lots of cash and paid high fees to join. Now it is any enthusiasts and the fees are reasonable. They want dedicated members who attend the weekly Monday night meetings.
They do not want people who are half interested in cars trucks, but are truely enthusiasts about old cars and rodding.
It has changed over the last 10 years.
Yes there will be some P****ks there, but most are guys like us that want to fix cars and trucks up and willing to share info. and knowledge.
I been to their club house a couple of times. It was great, but I'm not that dedicated to meet every Monday.
Maybe once a month is better.

Yeah I was just going on what i have heard in the past. Its great to see that they are alot more fair about it and whatnot. I think a true old car/truck enthusiast should be the kind of member they have.
