I wasn't planning on going, but decided what the heck and jumped in the car with my 6YO.
Nice day, just enough breeze to keep you cool.
I didn't take too many pictures, seems like every every nice car I saw had a SBC in it...just boring...I did gleen some info on a '37 PU though, he had a Mustanage IFS kinda like the one I'm using in my '36, and saw he was running 4inch offset wheels...tucked in just right under the front fenders...I'd been concerned with that for a while.
Even saw two '55 F100's parked side by side with...ta-da...SBC's in them...one had a flip frontend, the '68 was pretty nice as was the '64 or '65...not sure the year, but like JD's body style.
There were also 2 or 3 Shelby's and 3 or 4 Cobras..all real cars, couple of MACH1's...tons of A's, a good dozen or so '32's (all I saw again were...ta da...SBC's in them.
I did see on 30 or 31 A hotrod with a Roush engine in it, looked like a work of art the way the motor was in there...and also a replica - looking thing of the Adams family car with 10 carbs on it.
Anyway, the wife is supposed to take pics tomorrow, maybe she'll get some and I'll post a few up that I took...I get too involved with looking at things to remember to take pic's.
Thanks Frank, I'd like to see some pix. Sadly, it was 5 miles away & I didn't go. I did finally make it to Pik N Pull a few weeks ago, my mind was goin crazy with all they had to upgrade my Bump. Disc brake conversion, power steering, delay wipers, a nice fender, and a sway bar. Sorry to hijack Frank's thread, but he called me months ago to tell me about the local goldmine
There was 5 Bumps, I think.
Then I started reading in the Bump section, and saw the 03 Crown Vic IFS swap. Now I'm pondering a new idea. IFS, power rack & pinion steering, 12in disc brakes, and hydroboost. I would hurt myself by going from the crappiest brakes, to top of the line stopping.
Hey Dale, I checked out that thread you mentioned...looks like an easy swap...but...if you want something a whole lot less expensive...but a scooch more work...I have the IFS and the IRS from the '93 Cougar I scrapped.
You can have it all for scrap weight, I was going to cut things in half to make it "prepared"...let me know.
Hey...PS...did you ever use those chrome wheels? If not (and you still have'em), can I get them back from you? I need some 5 on 5.5's for a trailer I have...the ones on it now are 16's and require tubes...no issues if they're gone now.
I actually do have those rims still. I wasn't going to use them until I had power steering, & still don't. I was thinkin about that IRS you had....VERY tempting! if it has disc rears, I may just come get the whole shebang.
