I see that they check off services they don't perform myself. However, here is a thought. What if (not saying I would do it) but IF, I knew my motor was about to go, I went to Jiffy Lube, got them to fill up and 2 miles down the road, my sleazy friend would unscrew the plug and drain the oil.
Besides that this is a Powerstroke and will stop if the oil runs out, can I have a case if it were on another car?
They put a little paint mark on the plug after verifying the plug is on and tight.
I love you guys that say " I have a friend of my brother in laws sisters aunt that got her oil changed at Jiffy Lube and her car blew up 3 miles down the road..."
Like I said, 750,000+ miles and never one issue... Jiffy lubes from one end of the country to the other...
Last thing in the world i'd do is let some 16-year-old kid touch my truck.
Nope..I'll change it myself thanks. There are only a handfull of people I'd let drive my truck, much less mess around under the hood.
Besides it gives me a chance to take a better look at the truck, check for leaks, uneven belt wear, fluid levels, corroded electrical connections, etc.
Hey I take offense to that. Just messing with ya I know what you mean but hey I do the oil changes on both of the trucks (7.3 and 6.0) and I have never messed up. Knock on wood.

That comment does not apply to you, or our own 17-year-old either (Kris). Either of you can come over and change my oil whenever you feel the need to.

A couple of years ago, a friend took his truck into get the oil changed at a local gas station. He normally does his own, but did not have the time to doer. He dropped the truck off and went into their little waiting room, sat down to read a magazine and the "tech" came in to say it was finished. Red flags went up at the speed it was supposedly done, so he paid the cashier and stepped out to the lube pit where his truck was still parked. First thing he did was lift the hood and checked the dip stick. One quart of new oil on the top and black oil on the bottom. The tech had changed the filter and added one quart! Needless to say, he turned around, went into the station and gotr hold of the manager. At first the manager got huffy with him and denied it all until he took him out to the truck and showed him the stick. Needless to say, the manager was pi##sed, but changed the oil out himself and apologized. One of the reasons I change my own oil/filters. I have only had it done out of necessity a couple of times and I make sure I can watch them like a hawk!! Jim
Never, never will go to one of those shops. Still remember back in the early 80's when one of them put Quacker State oil in my car. It was in the dead of winter and the oil was supposed to be multi-viscosity(5W30). Well the oil never got the additive to slip into the 5W when it got cold. There were a lot of blown motors and the A##hole insurance company, Aetna, denied most of the claims. Never, never go to one of them cheat shops. And never, never carry Aetna insurance.
