1) Battery or batteries? What type? For instance, if you knew that the batteries contained Lithium, they should be recycled properly. If Lithium comes into contact with water, it will ignite a fire. Put them in a landfill where it is outdoors and lots of methane gas (caused naturally by landfills), there is a potential risk for a decent explosion.
Use mathematical percentages, facts and numbers. The thing about Hybrids is that they still spit out toxins, it's just that they have a smaller carbon footprint, or whatever. Get more inventive and think deeper into your subject, you will find that it really isn't all that hard. It gets harder when you get into the 400 and 500 level classes, believe me, I know.
I just need to find these two pieces of info as a internet source. I cant though and i am still searchin.
"College + English class" has ~90% probability that the person who will be marking this paper is a whining liberal. So consider your audience. Arguing that "green" initiatives are bunk or that SUV's (or worse, pick-up trucks) are perfectly justifiable, might not sit well with your marker.
I kno ill have to argue for hybrids as i am pretty sure that she is a lib (God damn, i kno, i hate em as u can see i am a truck man) but i have to get a good grade on this.
I typically argued very republican conservative points in my eng classes.
pro 2nd amendment
pro-life
pro-death penalty
those are the three I did the most papers on.
Simply put, a VERY well constructed paper, even the most liberal of english proffs. will find it hard to mark down even if they are STRONGLY against your arguments. Granted to kill my arguments, my proff started putting length limits on the papers...something about most of the people where turning in argumentative papers around 5 pages long, and mine where 15-20, but I tended to get As or very high Bs on them
I have a 5 page paper do in my college english class. The topic is arguing a postion. We can choose our own topics...
I assume you mean "the assignment is to demonstrate our ability to argue a position by choosing a topic, taking a position, and arguing for it", and not "we are to discuss the topic of how to argue a position".
Best demonstration of your ability to argue a position is to argue both sides. State a position, present a good argument in favour of it, then present an equally convincing argument against it. Makes it clear you're presenting an ability, not an opinion.
Ive been tryin to find sources. 2 sources per a point. Alls i have been finding is how good hybrids are. I havent found anything like berkad has stated.

That was my experience as well. Papers that were well written were graded with an open mind. Poorly written papers were graded accordingly. I'm sure there are different experiences out there, but some people think that their paper deserves high marks, even though it might have been poorly written. Nobody likes to be criticized over something they feel they did a good job on. There are people that are good with writing and those that are bad. Writing is like any other subject, IMO. I never heard people complain that the reason they got a low score on a math test was because the professor was a liberal... Anybody can put words down on paper, but that doesn't make it a good paper. You need a good thought process when it comes to writing... Just my two cents

Exactly. Whether right, wrong or indifferent...especially in college...keep in mind your audience who will be grading your paper. This audience is your prof who generally are a bit liberal teaching English.
You are writing a five page paper that is really not that long so keep your topic specific...maybe like hybrids are green friendly below 30 mph since that is when they use electric vs gas power. This can further develop about large urban settings where smog is more prevalent than in the country.
