Hello all, Ok I am totally stumped, and hope that someone can HELP with this issue, 95 Powerstroke very very random stalling. replaced CPS and still has an issue, could be sitting and idling or taking off from a traffic light it will just die, kick it in neutral and it always re-starts, just not real fun trying to control a 6200lb truck with 35 inch tires without PS or brakes. Could it be as simple as a connector that is loosing contact for a brief instance so that the CPS doesn't read? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Some Cps' are bad even when new. You could try another one. Before I did that I would check the Under valve Cover harness (UVC) and connections as well. Be sure the connections are not burned or melted and are getting good connections. Also check the regular stuff like batteries/connections and sensor connections.
Does it have a chip? If so you can remove it and see if that fixes it.

Take a look at the ICP connection pictured ...here....,,Make sure the connection is clean & the sensor is not leaking oil...
In the power distibution box under the hood there are 4 small relays ...switch 1 & 2 with 3 & 4 ......Do one test at a time , so you know what fixed it ....
I'd check your High Pressure Oil Pump. sounds to me like you arent getting fuel at low RPMs. also, on the same line, make sure you have enough good oil in that 14qt bucket you're hauling around...
other than that, my next guess would be injectors, try cleaning them, although i dont know how, if im anywhere close to the right track, someone who comes along will know.
Wow thank you everyone who has offered help, a quick update, currently running a couple of fresh tanks of fuel with injector cleaner, and the truck hasn't screwed up since, did check the items mentioned and found that the Valve cover wiring harnesses were replaced not long ago found a receipt in the glove box, everything else looked good went one step further and had a field day with some dielectric grease to make sure water and such stayed out of the connectors, just bought the truck a few weeks ago so slowly going through it. will get a pic up for all to see, and thanks again for all the support.
the dialectric grease is a good measure to take, i do that to all vehicals that i purchase get a couple cans of electrical contact cleaner and some dialectric grease and go to town. i havent gotten to it on my psd yet, iv noticed several times that they run better after doing that as well
Keep us posted and post here as much as possible. You will learn much here, Especially if you post even when you don't need help. Glad the problem is getting better
Well me and my BIG mouth..LOL talked how good it was doing and well lets just say i had to have a turret moment with my truck. Ok here is what was going on low speed under 10 mph driving, and was messing with the throttle pedal, it would cut out like it was going to die but stayed running just no power until i let off the pedal and let the switch reset, and when it did this the wait to start light came on then went off. Do the Powerstroke have a throttle position sensor like a gas engine? or possibly the little switch itself? UGHHHHH checked everything under the hood all plugs looked great nothing burnt or corroded, and did notice many new and shiny parts the previous owner must have installed prior to selling it.
When I bought the truck it had just been serviced Fresh oil change and filters including fuel filter, also the Fuel filter assembly and several parts surrounding it are brand new.
these trucks are fly by wire meaning they have no throttle cable or linkage they use a throttle position sensor on the pedal along with an idle validation switch on the pedal as well. If the IVS doesn't close when you push down the throttle it will only idle. So the PCM needs to see two things to do anything other than idle. the first is to see the normally open IVS close and then it needs to see the required voltage from the TPS (between .5 and 4.7 volts) depening on throttle angle.
It could be you newest issue is a sticky IVS. I would remove the three 13 mm nuts holding the pedal assembly to the fire way and clean IVS really well with brake cleaner then dose in WD40.
