2005 FX4 SCAB. My truck tows a 28' travel trailer, a motor cycle trailer for my Harley, goes on the ocasional off road flogging, and ZERO PROBLEMS. I have owned an '88 Ranger, a 2000 XLT 4x4 Off Road, and a 2002 SCREW FX4 and all have been almost trouble free. My last 2 F-150's needed serpentine belt replacements under waranty and that was it. Every vehicle I have owned gets routine maintenance, cleaning about 2 or 3 times a month, and some abuse. Not every Ford truck is trouble free, but they are most certainly tough trucks.
9,000 miles on an 07 XL 4.2 Regular Cab. My only complaints are seats that are too stiff, or built too narrow, and the extra doors that I have to shut hard to make them latch. (probably just because they are so short) Driving, running, build quality, No problems, no regrets, and nothing that would cause me to not buy another one.........
My very first brand new truck and it's all crooked literately crooked, the rear tire on the passenger side sticks way out of the wheel well further then the front passenger side, the driver side rear is up under the wheel well, which if you are following me it seems Iam driving sideways at an angle down the road, it doesn't park straight even if you think your straight you get out and see your WAY off! Ford Service Manager says they will try and fix this also the cab he said is crooked and need to be pulled over and adjusted, am I happy NO!! Will I buy another F-150 probably not, there fit and finish is horrible and I hate driving this 2 month old truck so far have to bring it back to them to fix on Friday so will see I'll report back, but this is my first NEW truck and issues really have me hateing to drive this truck!!!!!!!
SteelHorse....If you haven't been cliff jumping, and it's dog-tracking a little, they can slide that axle over, and fix that...I said that on another post also.
2 paint issues that got fixed as soon as I brought them up...otherwise been 100% trouble free. I'd gladly buy a new one.

stuff happens...cab and bed alignment is very easy to fix...as well as your rear axle alignment problem. also sounds like this is the cause of your bumping noise (left rear driver tire hitting frame or bed)
btw, these are trucks...not BMW or Cadillacs...my FX4 has a pretty darn good fit/finish IMO. I have 0 squeaks/rattles/bumps, or other little wierd things like you see in those little Jap POS cars
06 4x4 Lariat Scab, just turned 20,000 miles; at 400 miles had drive shaft and tires replaced. Excellent truck since. No problems noted and it has been offroad on some unique trails. Just had the cap to the shifter break off; called the dealership and they are ordering the part to replace. Might have the A/C looked at, can't make it snow inside. Dang!
I'll buy another one also I'll just make sure I bring a magnifying glass and look it over real well, I never looked at the tires real hard I was looking for scratches in the paint anything missing or dents plus it was dark out when the salesman "let's look it over for damage" Lesson learned next time I buy! This was my first Brand new vehicl purchase also.

Hey man, I PM'd you back. Your truck will be fine.
Not a single one of our trucks have we had to put any money into other than cosmetic problems (hitting deer). All of our trucks are great, Everything has almost 100K+ miles with the exception of the 08' 250 and It has 20k. We have never had a bad experence with ford, we had a 97' 4.6 auto f150 and it went to almost 300k miles and its only problem the occasional U joint, we didnt put anymore than 1000 dollars into it in 6 years. If its not a ford its not worth driving in my opinion.
