are you serious dude? warranty is only good for 36k miles first of all. second of all ive been using stp/ firestone/ fram filters for 70kmiles, and on countless other vehicles.
to the O.P. question. ive never heard of anyone having a problem with there engine in result to the brand of oil they use. its all personal preference, however do not used anything heavier than 5w-30. 10weight oils are toooooo thick for these tighter clearance motors. ford doesnt reccomend it for fun!
