edge programer for 5.4"?

I wouldn't want to try it - different engine if you are talking about a 2004 F150 vs. a 2004 F250 and different transmission as far as I know. (2004 f150 got the 3v Triton V8, this didn't go into the F250 until 2005). I don't think Edge makes one for your truck.
Programmers are usually specific to an engine AND a transmission if you want them to work properly. I'm sure there are other programmers that will work for your truck. I have a DiabloSport Predator in my '05 F250 with the 3V 5.4L. They make a model that fits your 2004 F250 5.4L 2v as well.

if it is a 2v 5.4 in your f150 and a 2v 5.4 in the f250 it will work fine, I had an edge evolution programmer for my 02 2v 5.4 truck and when i got rid of it i sold the programmer to a guy with an 01 f150 5.4. the evolution programmer will rear your pcm and then download the appropriate file to your pcm, the one i had would work with 4.6 liter trucks to if thats what you had.
