I have a 1995 f-150 ext 4x4 with a 302/5.0L that I bought a few weeks ago. I got it home and it ran fine. I shut it off and went out to start it the next day and it wouldn't start. In trying to start it I have flooded it out. I have replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, and remotely located ICM so far. Finally I have gotten to the point I am thinking it has to be the pip sensor/stator assembly in the distributor. I dont really know for fact on that though. I have called Oreillys and they call it a magnetic pick up coil and price it out at 36.99.
I have good spark from the coil to the cap. I check the wires for spark (with a led checkers that flash when spark is sent and by pulling the wire and grounding it) and I get intermittent spark. It seems to get spark more on the left side of the enigine than the right. I have checked the #1 cylinder at TDC and rotor position for proper time and it seem to be in time. I have a haynes manual that I have been going through but I am not real knowledgeable so has not been real helpful so far in this situation. Any help with this situation would be greatly appreciated. I am not real familiar on these forums so forgive me If I am doing something wrong.
