For the second time my horn has gone off at strange hours. The first time was around 4:30 in the morning, this time it was around 6:30. I'll be laying in bed when I am waken by my horn blasting. I have no clue what could be causing this. When I try to honk it it rarely works but when I'm nowhere near it, it does. I disconnected the wire on the horn for a while after the first time and reconnected it about 2 weeks ago only to have it go off again. If anyone has any clue what might be causing this or how fix it, please share!?
LMAO
thats funny! darn neighborhoods kids! bet they got mad when it stopped working! JK
that is weird though, maybe the previous now dead owner hates the fact your driving his truck? lol
id agree with bouts. must be a short. but still weird it does it when the truck is just sitting.

I had a Dodge that would do this. It would start beeping while I was driving and people would flip me off and i would hold both hands up and it would still beep. Bare wire maybe?
Not sure how much condensation there could be in the Arizona desert lol.
It's just a little trippy tho lol. I'll check all the wires and contacts and see if I can find anything. I looked at it briefly earlier today and saw that there was a wire going into a box right below the horn along with some other wires. What is this box and what are the wires to?
Probably the horn relay. Normally when they go bad it'll be horn on all the time. Might be worth changing out. It's a cheap enough part and not to bad to install.
Mike, Maybe type Arizona into your location so I can avoid the guessing game
Horns and Horn circuits are unique things.when they go off by themselves.. it means the diaphram of the horn received power somewhere in the circuit ...usually the horn pad area is the culprit.
Lol. It's a good thing I don't have air horns...yet lol. Now that I'm back from spring break in mexico I can reall take a good look at the wiring and see what might be causing this
had an 84 mark7 that did this in the middle of the night.....the foam padding in the wheel center, which separates the contacts, deteriorated....replaced the foam
