I defuel during shifts - my right foot lifts just as my left foot goes down.....
That would be a stick shift then? Shouldn't need to worry about the defuel adjustment then unless the trucks ECM still does the defuel deal on a standard the same as an auto.
6.0 headgaskets can blow from any tune. It doesn't matter what tuner you(anybody) think is safe, they all stretch the stretchbolts eventually. It is just a weak design. If you haven't blown them yet....consider yourself lucky.
I had the inline tuner "slip and slide" for about 8k miles. I didn't blow the tranny up, although it sure shifted like Crap. The worst is when you go from a mild tune and crank it up all the way.....the trans just can't deal with that....that is when you are going to eventually fry the trans.
Fuel tuning is all preference IMHO. Inline Box or Flash...everyone has their happy place.....But until you have driven a flash programmer that actually TUNES the tranny, you just don't know what you are missing. You actually get down the road faster because you aren't waiting for the tranny to shift... ~Brad
Not to hyjack this thread. Do you still use the Banks PDA with your truck or just the SCT. Took my truck in Tuesday and they said that the Banks was setting the CEL and causing injestor faults. Is gettin other stuff done as well nut I am debating wether or not to remove it. I have never put it above level 3 and really only use it for the guages. I have prety much all the same mods as you, Banks six Gun w/PDA, High Ram Intake and cold air kit. The dealer has been good to me and said they would recomend removing the six gun but it would be ok to leave the High Ram and cold air kit. I dont know if there is an update for the six gun that wil stop turning on the CEL or is it time to call up the fellas at Spartan Diesel.

Again sorry if I Hijacked it but I am trying to make the right decision and I read all posts on tuners.
Obviously you have the six gun installed but leave it on level 1? Or do you not have the six gun and just use the PDA and the SCT? Not too sure how the banks works but I dont think the PDA will work without the Six Gun.
For Some reason they say that I have an issue with my banks system. They say its causing an injector fault. I hope to have the truck back today and see if it is fixed and then I will put the Banks back on it and see if the CEL comes back on or not. Hopefully it wont and all will be well.
im having trouble with my edge attitude chip the truck seems to buck at low end power, however when im on the pedal there is full response. also, when i let off the pedal the excess boost pressure releases thru the intake and it makes almost like a coughing sound... any feedback is greatly appreciated

the coughing sound is normal. unplug the edge and see if it still does it, I doubt it is bucking because of your edge. could be egr related......or something else entirely.
yea, i tried disconnecting the chip and ran it and it still did it, not as bad as it does it when the chip is plugged in but minimal.. i also took out the egr valve and cleaned it... didnt help much
I run the edge juice w/attitude on my 04 for over 20k miles now w/no problems at all. never ran above level 3. the platinum has a few more features that i like, does any know if i could just change the monitors or i would need a new box also? thanks Marc
HD, the platinum I thought had more trans features including a temp monitor. all the the attitude has is the defueling option for the trans. I may be wrong but i thought it can tell you your quater mile time also, the attitude doesnt do that.If anyone has had both I would like to know wich one they perfer.thank Marc
