Bed Bolt Part Number?

Had my B&M gooseneck hitch put in my 01 Dually today. The installers removed the bed to do the job. One of the bolts broke several of their torx bits so I told them it was okay to cut the bolt off. I want to get new ones anyway in the stainless or chrome variety. I googled and looked at Ford Direct Parts for a part number but cannot seem to find one. They are actually known as the Taptite 2000 M14 box bolt but I cannot seem to find a place that actually sells them. Anyone here have a suggestion?

I'll never go back to these guys for anything even though they sell and install lots of truckstuff. They used a jigsaw instead of a hole saw to cut the hole in the bed, its more oval than round; a third grader could have cut a rounder hole! very unprofessional and then did not even debur the edges. thanks

Have you called the place that manufactures them? Maybe you can buy direct.

If not, they should be able to direct you to a retailer.

Thanks Smokin'

The wife is going to try that today. That website you sent me is what I found yesterday using Google. These are some very unique (and massive) bolts. No wonder some people have problems getting them removed. I am wondering how they fit since they have this bracket attached to them but I am sure that the next time the bolts come off (for the X-liner) that will be figured out.

If Taptite does not sell these in stainless or chrome, do you think it will be a problem to have just the top portion of the bolt chromed? thanks again

If you really want Chrome bolts, I don't see why not. Just as long as some of that chrome doesn't get into the threading.

Hopefully someone who has experience installing gooseneck hitches can chime in...maybe they'll have other ideas.

Got the part numbers for both the bolt and the bracket that is necessary.

The bolt part # W706642S901 (from dealer $17; from direct online $10)
bracket # W708770S900 (my wife got this number from somewhere but it does not compute on the Ford Direct Parts website so I will update later)

I am still going to chrome plate just the heads of the bolts and then buy chrome washers and post pics after I X-line the bed with the chromed bolts
