Can anyone help me fine tune my carb, I've rebuilt it to exact specs, but now I'm just setting the idle mixture. So far thats the biggest problem. Chilton manual says it takes a propane enrichment and a tach, neither of which I have. So now what? I have them set about 2 full turns out, but I adjusted one a little so that the were the same distance coming out of the other side into the throttle holes. It misses like crazy, so id like to fix it quick. thanks.
Do you own a vacuum gauge? If not get one. You can set your air fuel mixture using the gauge to watch the vacuum hit its highest point. Can explain more about it if you need.

Find a vacuum port on the intake maniflod or on the throttle plate on the base of the carburetor with full vacuum. Hook your hose up here. Start your motor let it warm up. You will adjust each air fuel mixture screw until you obtain the highest vacuum reading on your gauge. Do one side at a time and only turn the screw at 1/4 turns and take your time so the carb can adjust to your turning the screws. I dont know how far out your screws are now but if it does not do anything turning them out then turn the screws in till the vacuum starts to drop then slowy bring it back out just to where it hits the highest point. You will hear your rpm's change with this adjustment usually your idle speed will increase as the vacuum comes up. Let us know how it goes.
