it had alot of fumes coming out which i'm not sure is normal, i was talking to a couple of other guys and one held his finger up to see if it built alot of pressure. he only had it plugged for a few seconds no more then about 10-15 seconds.
if i already had an oil leak would this cause it to push out more oil, or would it most likely create a new leak?

it will only leak when the crankcase is pressurized, through blocking the hose or improper ventilation. seals will start leaknig until the crankcase sees an "acceptable" pressure again, so you should be fine, nothing should be leaking from sticking a finger in there for a few seconds
