01 escape ride
Hi, I have a new owner with a o1 escape 2 wheel drive, that seems to thump on even small cracks/bumps. looks like o e shocks, don't seem to be locked up. Monroe sens a track shocks seem to be all that is available for replacement. Goodyear steel belted tires, Ia this normal, the tires are pretty good, hate to replace just to try to get a better ride. any ideas? Thanks

Does the ride just seem harsh or does it sound like something is loose? How many miles are on this vehicle? Your struts or shocks could just be worn out but remember, this is not a soft riding vehicle. If you have a V6, the suspension is capable of handling 3500 lbs. for towing.

I would check the stabilizer bar links. They seem to be a weak link in the front suspension. If worn out they will make lots of noise expecialy going over bumps. They are a cheap fix. Agreed that the Escape is not a soft riding vehicle.
