OEM suspension replaced at about 76k miles, with Monroe Quick Strut Assemblies FT and Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks rear. Also replaced sway bar links and outer tie rod ends, FT.
Replaced again 3 years, 31k miles later (this month) as it rode like a barn wagon. This certainly does not seem right.
Any experience out there with Escape ride/handling quality and any other contributing components besides suspension?
Tire pressure is maintained 2lbs over door panel number.
There is a pretty in depth thread where one user had a couple of different sets put on in a very short amount of time. If I remember he went back with OEM replacement because they were actually a softer/smoother ride than any of the aftermarket.
I have changed mine every 80k or so and I don't notice a huge difference. Nothing like our new CX9.
Thanks for the reply.
I always ponder OEM stuff before doing my DIY but I did not consider it in this case. For example, I use OEM oil filter and belts. Thanks for your comments.
I use Rock Auto dot com for my parts. I will check other brands but am invested now in the new Monroes...and I did the installation so I don't have "installer backing".
Interesting read about the "back to OEM" story...will consider when this ride becomes intolerable.
To be clear, new Monroe Quick Struts front, new MOOG sway bar links, and Monroe Sensi-Trac shocks rear, stabilized the ride, but the ride quality quality is not what I expected. Had alignment done too, just toe adjustment.
