Help With Pushrods

Ok, I got my shims, and they did help somewhat, but the valves are opening just a little still... So, I am going to get a set of shorter pushrods. Now, how much shorter can I get?? I Shimmed the rocker arms about 0.030" and still it wasn't enough. So, I was thinking about getting 0.040" shorter rods, and then if I needed to, I could still shim them.. Does this sound good??

Help With Pushrods

Check with Ford or Crane cams on push rod length available. With that much change you need to check your rocker arm geometry. Make sure they don't hit the spring or roll off the valve stem. You want to wind up with about .030 (I think) preload on the lifters.
