Last night let my truck warm up for about 5 min it was 42 degrees out went and left the house made it about 2 blocks hit the brakes at the stop sign and my truck died. tried to start it but just cranked over. Went under the hood had fuel presure drained the bowl primed it with the key and tried it agian nothing oil level is were it needs to be filter is new. the truck just cranks and doesnt even fire pulled out my dp tuner thinking maybe somthing with that nothing differnt just cranks. Is there a fues that runs injectors did i fry my computer somehow is there a sensore like cps that would do that. thanks Brian
Check fuse # 30, you could have burnt out the fuel heater in your bowl. If that fuse is burnt unplug the connection going into the fuel bowl and try again after changing the fuel.
That sounds very much like the CPS. Mine did the same but with a little skip about 2 minutes before it died completely. replace the CPS. There is a recall out for the CPS, but it seems you are stuck right now where it is. Unless the dealer will cover the tow charge too for the recall, just do it yourself. Otherwise, call them and have them do it. But get another grey CPS for your glovebox with a 10mm socket, extension and ratchet. Always good to have a spare...there have been issues with the replacement CPS from the dealer. They only cost about $27
Racer*2 here,
Dude, Pop your distributor cap, see if your rotor is turning when cranked. Could be coil, timing belt, or any of a hundred things. First, see if your rotor is turning.
I'll check back.

Racer, we are messing with you. That is good advise if he did have a rice burner. Enjoy this fourm and talk to us.
i have a 7.3 diesel not spark plugs here. I have the itp regulated return and i keeps fuel pressure on teh gauge while cranking to me that means i has fuel. I could be wrong though still learing this stuff. I have a spare cps in the glove box i might try that i was told it will run with a bad cps but run really bad.

If the CPS goes...it won't run at all. It may give you a little trouble before it goes but it can and will just die...not running bad...just DOA.
I just realized I've never changed a coil or distributor cap on my truck. Woops.
Millermanbg, what year truck do you have? Fuse #30 isn't always the right location. When you turn your key to the on position does your glow plug light come on for a few seconds, then go off like normal? When you crank the truck does your tach move or just sit at zero? Are you getting any faint color smoke out the tail pipe while trying to start?
Give us a little more info, and we'll see if we can narrow this down.
