I agree in theory Bis. However, every once in a while I just run across a post that screams at me to hit the disapprove button. It's rare. But sometimes I just gotta do it. If it comes back to haunt me, oh well.
Recently I have been spending time looking for posts on trucks w/ big problems and then looking at the owner's early posts -- trying to see how their truck was operated and maybe see a correlation/root-cause. It is very informative at times. Along those same lines, I guess I would not hit the disapprove button without looking at past posts to see what kind of help (or opposite) the person has been. I appreciate the fact that the few people I have had some heated discussions with in the past have refrained from "dinging" me (maybe they just did not know how??). As it turns out, since having those discussions, I have seen quite a few helpful posts from most of those folks (and hopefully they have seen the same from me). Unless the advice jeopardizes the reliability of the vehicle or is malicious, it really is good to have a fair amount of diversity.
I suppose it is as true here as it is in the "real" world - good judgement is a priceless attribute.
Almost one year after the original post and ......... I guess I have to say I now agree with you Frank. I have seen a few (very few though) that do deserve it. Usually the moderators handle it well and, even the best of us can over-react occasionally.
