Got a 96 F350 PSD with a fuel leak on the fuel pressure regulator. Appears to be coming out the bottom, can't see exact source. Looks pretty straightforward to remove the fpr except for the bottom tube, how does this attach/detach? Also looking for a kit or part numbers for the parts necessary to rebuild the fpr. Local Ford place wants to sell me a $399 kit. Would gladly put a new fpr on it if I could find one. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Here's a list of all the o-rings associated with the fuel filter assembly that I got off of this website: http://www.thedwilsons.com/powerstro...t_Numbers.html I used Buna N 70 rings which aren't as susceptible to shrinkage in cold weather, but they aren't as resistive to biodiesel as viton is. I picked up all of them for a grand total of $2.56 at a local fluid power store.
O-Rings, Standard sizes for replacements
Fuel System O-Rings (use Viton for fuel)
#123, 94-95 FPR Bowl
#025, 96-97 FPR Bottom plug, outer (seals plug to housing)
#110, 96-97 FPR Bottom plug, inner (seals fuel return to HP side of pump)
#012, 94-97 Water In Fuel Sensor Probe
#014, 94-97 FPR
#015, 94-97 FPR to Filter Housing
#011, 94-97 FPR Screen Plug, Smaller o-ring
#012, 94-97 FPR Screen Plug, Bigger o-ring
#018, 94-97 Fuel Heater Connector
#202, 94-97 Water Drain (2 required)
#???, Fuel rail end plugs in head
Thank you 97, that's exactly what I was looking for. It appears the #025 o-ring is leaking but while it's out I'd like to replace them all. When you refer to the local fluid power store, is that the name of a chain or just a generic hydraulic supply store?
Just a store here in town. I think they are local. I know you can find them all on mcmaster carr but i think they want you to buy in quantities of at least 25. If you can't find one around you I could go pick some up for you and send them in the mail.
97, Thanks for the offer, I appreciate it. I swung by the local hydraulic repair shop yesterday, the owner gave me the o-rings, Buna-N. He looked insulted when I offered to pay him for them, said they ran him an average of 5 cents each. So I left him some money for a couple drinks from the pop machine. Put them in last night, truck actually starts better. Can't beat that.
Thanks again
