swapping alternators?

It should.

That's what the top illustrated alt is.

You will need the plastic connector on the harness though

I think I'm going to end up buying this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-...em130204960787

not a bad price, and the guy will apparently put v belt pulley on it. Walmart/Autozone sells 4ga or lower wires for less than $10.

Not sure how easy it will bolt up, I'm sure someone here knows.

I think that's the one my mechanic suggested. He told me that one for a mustang 5.0 will work. So I don't think it should be a problem bolting it up.

I just did the 3G alternator in my '79. VERY EASY! I have yet to try it out,but it was one of the easiest that I have done.
