Rep Points

I am officially an idiot. I can not figure out for the life of me how to give rep points. I would like to give out some points to those of you who have helped me out in the past. It is probably so easy a cave man can do it. Sorry for the stupid thread.

Look at the right hand of a post, you will see a little seashell next to the post #. Click on it and you can type something and send away.

Jamie... to give rep points, you click on the silver-gray scales that are pictured just to the right of the "post #", then chose "Postive" or "Negative", then type in the comment you want the recipient to see. Here's a pic below of what I'm talking about.

Just to let you know what it means.

if you get 100 positive reps, you get the second green little box by your name, and each hundred after that adds another box.
You leave more points for the person if you type a message.
To veiw reps that you have recieved go to your user control panel, and expand the comments to see what folks have said about your posts.

what does it mean when you just have a neutral gray box next to the reps in your user cp instead of the green ones?

I for the life of me can not see my rep points. Somewhere along the line I rememeber reading something about having 16 or so but can't for the life of me find the "comments" you are talking about.....would there be some reason I can not find them....or maybe I don't have any?

On mine I just click on User CP in the top right hand corner of the page I'm viewing (make sure you're signed in) At the top of the User CP page it says newly subscribed threads and lists whatever threads you are involved in. Scroll down below that list and you should see Latest Reputation Received. There is an arrow next to the words latest repuation received on the right hand side that lets you expand or collapse that list to see who has given you any recent rep points.

You were right, they are at the bottom of the page. It says I have 16 but it only shows the last 4. I don't know if it shows only the ones within a certain amount of time or just the last 4...Oh well, maybe the other 12 were too long ago...thanks for the help...

It might be a time thing, cause the oldest one was right about 2 years back, so after the 21st of this month if it goes away, I know it only shows the most recent 2 years worth....or I may be way off, who knows..
