You get a neutral from someone who is too new to be considered important by FTE's standards. If you get a rep from someone with alot of posts, or alot of green dots, or a moderator, the rep points go up considerably. I got 10 at once one time from a moderator. Or, you can get a neutral if you are left a positive without a comment.
Almost half of my rep points have come from mods and yes, they carry a heavy hammer!!! One hits me for 50 points every time I'm repped!!
I've really been trying hard to remember to rep the people who deserve it.
Speaking of reps, i've seen a few people runnin around with negative reps (or red squares on their posts). Never seen that before, in the two or so years i've been hangin around here.
I was fishing most of the day Sunday. Man you have got a heck of a lots of Reps with that many green boxes. Maybe one day I will know enough to help someone on here.

cmpd1781 is a regular down in the general and members only forums. People seem to be a lot more consistent about handing out rep in those forums than in the tech forums, so people who post there tend to have more little green boxes than posters who stick to tech.
It's a good thing too, 'cause I'm pretty much a klutz with mechanical stuff.....
