Time to replace camshaft...

I am going to swap a camshaft / lifters / timing set in a friends truck this next week. I am trying to get an idea of how long it takes so i can get him a good estimate on labor $$$$...

If anyone here has swapped out a cam, and can let me know how long it took you, I would appreciate it!

Thanks.

It depends on how it all goes and if you have help. Someone to clean and scrape gaskets & hand you tools will be very helpful. Lifters can be a real pain to get out sometimes. If it's some kind of performance cam you will need to check lifter preload. You may have to shim or change push rods to a different length.
If everything went relatively smooth & you have help, I'd guess around 5 hours.

YEah, i was thinking 5 hours on it. The truck is all stock and he wants just a stock cam put back in, so wont be too big of a deal. I just hope the lifters arent mushroomed on the bottom.
