Open intake or not

There are mixed feelings on whether to run an open air intake or stock. My truck has the following mods:

Airaid intake
Power elbow
MBRP turbo back
ARP studs
SCT Water /Meth race tune
SNOW water/ meth system with 8 gallon tank

I made 380 RWHP without the SNOW system last year and have not yet dynoed it with the Methanol. I and estimating it will be about 450 RWHP. Some say don't use the open air intake until you reach 500 HP. Any thoughts ?

What do you mean by an 'open intake'? I take that as NO FILTRATION. That would be mega bad. If you mean an aftermarket intake, the highly, frequently, most often posted answer is that the stock filter flows way more than enough air for the 6.0L.

Take Care

Open intake on a turbo is a dangerous game.

I think your over estimating the water meth kit. I was steered away from them because they are expensive and didn't add much power. My understanding is they are more beneficial for keeping temps down when adding alot more fuel than just a tuner.
Don't really know what you mean by open intake? If your talking no filter, that would be very costly.

That would be a foolish idea to run no filter. I have a Airaid intake as listed in my mods.

No offense, I think it is foolish to run an aftermarket air filter for the horsepower that you are putting out.
