Upgrade Exhaust

I have an excursion with a 6.0. I would like to upgrade the exhaust to get better performance. However, I do not want much if any additional sound. What exhaust system should I get? Should I have the current catalytic converter installed with the new system and a new muffler?

you will get significant additional sound if you do an entire 4" system even if you keep the cat and muffler. also depends what year truck you have. IMO, doesn't matter what manufacturer you buy from....s.s. piping is just that

MBRP seems to have the best rep for having the best fit. Some other companies have sent folks equiptment with the mounting brackets welded on the wrong side of stuff

I am not sure you will be impressed with "increased performance" by upgrading your exhaust. I have read that it is maily increases egts and sounds really cool. I can attest to the sounding really cool

I have a MBRP Cat back 4" with 5" Slash cut tip. Looks great, sounds good (could be a little lounder for me but is nice and mellow), and was very easy to install at my house.

Mine is louder than stock when you stand on the fuel. But highway cruise.....I can't hear a difference. At idle there is no difference.

The biggest benefit for me was fuel mileage. I get 2 MPG better now after installing the system I got. 4" No cat duel

Thats wild, I didn't know they came with Captians in the rear? Wouldn't work well for me either since I could only haul 4 people.
