According to my Ford dealer I have one of the last of 5 remaining grills in my basement , when I called there was 6, an hour later there was 5. An this was a couple years ago. I know the aftermaket ones are pure junk, but if thats all that you can get what else can you do .Good luck in finding a factory grill at a good price, new parts are getting really hard to come by.
jeffs bronco graveyard has them, 500 bucks... ouch
Yep..Ouch....But, if the quality is anything like the original, than I guess it's worth it, because the repro crap goes for over $200. But, still expensive. And you know, these trucks seem to not be worth very much, so why are these parts so darn expensive.

Actually the pre-80's ford trucks are going up in value extremely fast, at least here in Canada they are. Parts are expensive because good used parts are rare, dealers no longer can supply most parts and the aftermarket is just recently getting an good supply of parts. So the old supply and demand system shows up, high demand with no supply means high prices. A rust free bed for a 79 will get $3000.00 with a waiting list to get one , a new 2007 take off with gate is $1200-1500. I paid $260.00 Can. for my grill a couple years ago and could get twice that if I wanted to sell it, but where would that get me, I couldn't get another grill for my truck.
ill look through my ford parts and see if i have an original. if i do ill be happy to ship it out to you for shipping cost only. gimme a day or so to search
does anyone kmow if u can still purchase the grill shell new from ford or am i stuck withthe sheap repo ones ,ive seen the repos and they suck
JUst a suggestion, but if you have one without large dents, you could try what I am currently doing-a loacl chrome/aluminum shop is reworking mine, removing bends, polishing it and then we're shooting it with clear coat.

What is the cost of something like that? Like mentioned before, an New OEM shell would cost me around $600 (with shipping).
I refinished my own a few years ago, started with 400 wet/dry sand paper , worked up to 1500 w/d paper , then polished it by hand with autosol aluminium polish. When I was done it shined better then a new one. Took about 4 to 6 hours and about 25 dollars worth of materials but well worth it. This works well if the grill is only stone chipped and tarnished, to hard to polish out big chips. If I could figure out how to post pics on this site, I could show you how well it works, but can't seem to get any pics up. Anyone want to tell me what to do????
sign up with a site that will host your pictures. I use photobucket, its free and pretty simple. Then when you upload them, photobucket creates a html code that you can copy and insert when you click on the insert picture when you're typing a reply
