Up here in the North East corner the snow is coming down hard & heavy--plowed (played) some today--going out first thing in the a.m. to play some more!
My work got cancelled tonight so I just got back home from a little 4 x 4 play time tonight. Back roads are in pretty bad shape in Miami County, several cars in the ditch, north/south roads are drifting bad. Amazing first big snow we had this winter happens in March.
Yeah I played for a little while each day since Thursday. I even got a chance to take the fiancee out and learn her some snow driving. .. She is from Florida and never really learned to drive in the white stuff. So we played in an empty parking lot doing spins, donuts and braking to let her get a feel for it. Hopefully if she has to drive in it without me she won't panic if one of those things happen to her.
I was going to drive to Detroit in a car to move my sister this weekend for that whole gas milage reason but when the snow hit it was clear to take the truck.
4x4 all the way into Detroit Saturday morning. And returning that night was just as much fun!
I can't beat 780, however I did use about 72 gallons of gas in the big blue truck over the past 2-3 days plowing. Ashtabula got dumped on--about 20 inches w/drifts 3-4 ft in some places. It took me 3 hours to clear a parking lot that normally only takes half that time. Yesterday I got the plow stuck in a pile and had to dig it out--that was no fun. Then today I slid off a driveway and had to call my buddy to pull me out with the ol Ford tractor!! Overall I had fun playing in all the snow--didn't break anything on the truck and got the job done.
we were in that blizzard zone, about 18 inches here had some 3+ drifts all over the place. 6 feet over the ditch, but that's kinda cheating. I did go play in it, here's my video.
