I am looking for some new tires to replace my oem's. My truck is a 04 f350 drw crew cab/chasis cab. I have a 9 ft. flat bed on it and I am wanting to stick with the 235/85-r16's that are on it. I have been having trouble finding a good all terrain tire that has white letters in a 10ply. I know I have to break the tires down to rotate them I have been doing it since 02 when I bought my first XLT Lariat with the rwl tires. I have found some Hankook RFO 4 tires that are simular to my general ameritracs that came from the factory. I did some searches on here but could only find people talking about 18 inch rims and 35's.
I was just wondering if any one has had any experiance with these Hankook's?
I know Goodyear and Bridgestone make some but I can get these hankooks for a good price. Not only am I having to buy 6 of the hankook I am buying 8 tires for my tandem dual gooseneck trailer at the same time so I am trying to keep it all in my budget.
BF goodrich A/T's come in a 10 ply in some sizes... check into those.. I've heard good things about hankook.. a friend of mine sells lots of them at his shop.. I might try a set next winter.. they have a pretty good aggresive mud tire..
I put the set of RFO4's on and got ridd of them in a couple of days. Made my tailend float all over the place. I was pulling a little 6x12 tandem axle trailer one day and almost every time I passed an 18 wheeler the wind coming off the tractor would blow my rear end over on the wake up calls on the shoulder of the road. My truck is a f350 dually. So it shouldn't have done that. Every time you would go around curves it would feel like your rear was drifting.
So the tire shop swaped the out for some Leorado's and they seem to be alot better.
I think the RFO4's were too soft. We even aired them up to 80psi all the way around and it only made just a little difference.
I really wanted some thing different than what I ended up with but I wanted white letters and not very many companies make the 235/85-16 Load range E in white letter in my price range.
