First off, welcome aboard!

Secondly, are you looking for an oil bath air-cleaner or one of the flatter steel units that fits a paper element, which I think started in 66 or 67, can't remember.

Thanx for your reply Mike

I THOUGHT I had in I included the word "correct" in my first post which WOULD be an OIL BATH. However, if someone came up with a paper unit that was correct for 1966-that would work. Sorry if I was unclear. THANX!

1965/66 F100/350 352's all had an oil bath air cleaner, there was no other air cleaner available.

If you wish to help- I appreciate it

BUT, it would seem that you are more interested in showing off your knowledge in a critical manner by knitpicking. I think I expressed my need adequately. BOTH oil bath and paper were introduced in the 1966 year ok. IMy 65 came with an oil bath, which was all that was available in that year. The previous owner CONVERTED it to a paper filter from Auto Zone. All I want is to locate either an original oil bath OR a compatible paper unit which is a STOCK FORD item(not an aftermarket). If you have information that can help me obtain what I am seeking, please forward that MINUS the knitpicking TY

NOOB, put your little hose back in your pants bro, your pee is spattering too far. Don't know who told you that paper filters were available on these pickups but there were not. Bill da Dummy can help you a lot, he has forgotten more part numbers than you will ever know. You can move a rope a lot further by pulling it rather than pushing it.

Play nice.

Unhappy I WAS nice

Believe me I WAS being nice and I STAND by what i said to Dummy. If you will review his replies you will see what I am refering to. I made a simple request for assistance finding a part and he seems to be more interested in showing how much more HE knows than just answering the question. It so happens that I TOO have access to the FOMOCO part numbers and the "paper" element WAS available on LATE 66 models. Irregardless, I believe that I had stated that I would be interested in EITHER one, so what is his problem? I am NOTinterested in a who's hose is longer contest,as that is nothing less than ego masturbation. I just wanted to find a part or two for my truck. If that is too much trouble, please excuse me for any inconvienience I may have caused for DARING to participate here I PROMISE- I WONT DO IT AGAIN. I also own a Dodge Ram 2500 and a 69 Chevy c-20(LT-1) so my options are NOT limited. Oh and before anyone is tempted to point it out- I KNOW the LT-1 was nOT an option for that year CHEVY truck--It came out of a 70-1/2 Corvette I owned that another WOULD be know it all ran OVER with HIS Ford 4x4 while trying to impress others.AND Guess WHATTTT---He "forgot" to pay his insurance payment. The point is, the best way to impress others with your knowledge is by USING that knowledge to HELP others- not using it to illuminate ASSumed ignorance of others

Please substitute teh word "OTHER" for the word "LATE" in my last reply. I apologize for misspeaking. To be sure I was clear- I MEANT that the paper unit was available on OTHER FORD products in 66 that used the 352 engine such as Galaxie. THEREFORE a paper unit from a 1966 Galaxie with 352 2 barrel would PROBABLY be more desireable than this Auto Zone Donut. NOW_ Does everyone understand me correctly?? GEEEZZZZ

Carb tops are pretty standard in size. Run what ever you want to on your truck.

Bill has posted a lot of parts numbers for a lot of people that are happy with his replies. Sorry that he couldn't satisfy you. Look at his post count, he works hard to help.

I welcomed him to the site, and gave him the part numbers for the accelerator cable and the chrome door panel trim he asked about.

In my next post, I gave him the info on the oil bath air cleaner.

I even searched Green Sales & Dennis Carpenters online parts locators looking for one.

So for my efforts, he calls me a 'knit' picker, whatever that is.

All I was doing was extending to him same the courtesy I give to other members of FTE, typing part numbers and other info.

I was a Ford partsman for 35 years, I own a 1965 F100, which I bought new. I've been a car collector since 1956.

I've belonged to dozens of old car/truck related clubs over the past 50 some years, so I know that many ppl don't have parts catalogs, and may be unaware of what parts are original to their vehicle.

Many modifications and other owner induced changes have occured to vehicles over the years, so is letting ppl know what parts are correct a bad thing?

1965/66 352/390 Galaxies with 2V carbs use a dry type (paper) aircleaner.

It's 17.25" in diameter / 4.22" in height / the Motorcraft number for the filter is FA-23.

Other 1967/70 2V Galaxies use similar aircleaners, but...with different filters than was used in 1965/66.

Because the Galaxies 2V carbs are the same 2100 series with an identical sized throat as the 1965/66 352 F100/350's use, the aircleaners will fit.

MpanFla... My guess is in regards to the paper filters being available in 66...I think you are thinking of passenger cars...the trucks indeed did use only the oil bath thru the 66 model year run.
As for nitpicking...Any kind of part number or source Bill states as far as Im concerned is the gospel...he was behind the parts counter for almost as many years as Ive been alive...he is a HUGE wealth of info.
I have stated or asked about things on here over time which Ive been wrong on and Bill or others have corrected me...no biggy in my eyes...its how people learn things...I know Ive learned a ton from people on here...a great bunch of guys I must say also...
If Im wrong about the paper filters on the cars in 66 please correct me...
