Today I got B99 for $3.23 I already had ½ of a tank of diesel but I think I will be running the B99 as long as I can get it for the same or less than diesel. Right now I am at a 50-50 mix but can tell a difference already in the way it smells it reminds me of being in high school working at Pizzeria Uno having to clean out the fryers LOL. I have herd people say that the truck will be quieter on the Biodiesel but I don’t know about that but it dose run smoother and there is a lot less black smoke.
This is the first time running the B99 is there anything that I should watch for? I have a extra fuel filter in the truck just in case. And it is not a home made brew it is commercial I pumped a little into a water bottle it is a clear honey color.

Keep us updated on how it runs. I have also heard about it running quieter, maybe its because its your first tank, I'd give it some time. I'd probably just go ahead and change the fuel filter already simply because I'm sure a lot of gunk is going to get loosened up and filtered out, but yeah other than the filter I can't think of anything else, maybe others can add.
Works great, doesn't it. My station turns the pump April 1st once the temps get higher. I can't wait. This year I will buy about 60 gallons before winter so I can blend it myself next winter.
Been there....done that. I run through a little more than the average bear in diesel fuel.My wife and I drive team in a Kenworth. I tried the bio thing by running through 1607 gallons. Fuel mileage went down 13%. depending on how cold your climate is,IT WILL GEL FASTER !!!

They do mention that it will go down because of the lowered energy content but 13%? That is a new high. I lost a mile or so going to B40. Yes it will gel faster so you need to put the anti-gel in the winter. That is why I think it isn't worth it unless it will cost less than D2
Wow B99 is $3.69 per gallon here in Phoenix! I can buy diesel for $3.63, so what's the point here in Phoenix?? That's a bummer! I wanted to smell french fries dang it!
What is Ford's official take or statement in regards to running bio-diesel in a 6.0??

How would you do that? Plumb part of the exhaust into the cab? More importantly, why?
IIRC, B5 is all they will allow. So, if you have a fuel probelm and they find more than B5 there and they decide to kick up a fuss, you might be arguing for a while

Not trying to tell you what to do at all, it's your money and spend or save as you need. BUT when you say what's the point i have to chime in...
When you use Biodiesel you are not buying foreign oil, supporting american farmers, lowering emissions, and helping your engine.
Just something to think about and reasons why my diesels burn bio
