i disonected the air pump on my truck but could not a fitting belt. so i left the pump itself there and just plugged all the lines, can this cause problems, cause my truck seems to miss when its under a load. i have a 1990 351w
I did the same on my 300-6, and all you need is to count the ribs on your belt, than take a piece of string and wrap it around the pulleys and take that length to the auto store.
I got a belt number off of here, but went back 3 different times before I got the right one. I think they come in 1/4 inch ( or maybe even 1/8) lengths, so getting the right one should be easy. But I think 3/4 of an inch could be too tight or loose.
I made good friends with my local Ford Dealership. The give me wholesale prices on parts. Always very helpful, never have to go back with a wrong part.
