Let it be known
I wouldn't buy a Chevy just because I can't stand the stupid starter setup with all the fusible links on the starter/relay in a position where you can't change them. Usually not enough extra wire to rerout to the fender either.
Then for the SBC you have the exhaust manifolds over the spark plugs, wonderful!
I had people not take my advice on buying 80s to early 90s Chevy anything because of the bad EPROM problem, especially the cars. No start, no spark = EPROM. Nice to throw away $200 each year replacing them. At least the TFI module on the Ford is $30 and last a few years.
Really, I think you went from bad to worse. If you wanted something bullet proof as a DD you should have bought an old Toyota truck with a 22r or a Honda Civic.
What are most 1989 trucks? Pieces of junk that you have to spend a ton of money to get to DD status, far more then you could sell them for on E-Bay. I love buying $300-$1000 trucks and working on them and making them nice running vehicles. Never get my money back unless I ran them into the ground.
my 89 is a total pos, and i knew it when i bought it! hahahaha! AND I LOVE IT! i paid 300 for a non running 4x reg cab with tons of body rust. hell the wheels were worth the 300 bucks. now i have a 2000 dollar/ 300 dollar truck. i have tossed 2k at it and it is still only worth 300. oh well the new body is in the driveway and this summer when i am done and have spent my additional 5k i might have a 2000 dollar truck. but it will all be new, clean and i will no exactly what i have. it will most likely be the last truck this cheap sob ever buys! my neighbor told me i am the reason for homeowners associations, hahahaha! good thing we dont have one. oh well the 4 car is gonna start construction next month. sorry i didnt have a point, other than my 89 is awesome and has done some awesome work so far.
