E4OD rebuild

my tranny started slipping in 3rd gear and overdrive the other day while i was pulling an empty car trailer. I already have a bts valve body so I want to keep that but I need to do a rebuild on the rest of the tranny.

any suggestions on a kit that I can buy for the parts that I would need to do a strong upgraded rebuild myself ?

also what is the best torque converter that I can put in in ?

I want to make this a realy stong tranny so that I can add injectors in the near future and not have to worry about it.

Have you tried searching this site for that topic? I'm getting close to doing a rebuild, too. Most folks here are recommending a triple-disk torque converter.

Places like RacerX, BTS, etc keep getting mentioned. My local Cottman Transmission shop can rebuild my E4OD with the upgraded parts. I've told them what I want to do and they've done many times.

Talk to a local shop that you trust. Be honest and tell them EXACTLY what you're planning on doing. If they can't give good suggestions, try someplace else.

You might try searching "E4OD Rebuilt" or "E4OD Upgrade" or something like that. Post what you find and decide to do. If your questions are more specific and you provide more detail as to what you're doing, these guys will have TONS of information and suggestions for you.

I do know they mention upgrading to some 4R100 parts. Sorry I can't be more specific. Transmissions are a mystery to me.

I'll check another site I use, maybe that's where the info I'm thinking about was found. I'll be back in a few minutes.

OK, I didn't find what I was hoping to find, but this site is a good one to bookmark, also. I'm using the laptop and don't have all the bookmarks I use for reference.

This will give you some ideas for the supporting tranny upgrades, not necessarily the internal upgrades.
