On my 95 E250 it won't shift outta park when applying the brake. I have 2 questions?
1. Where exactly is shift interlock part? The Haynes manual was useless with zero pics.
2. Can this part be bypassed or removed?
Thanks in advance!
My early 95' did have it.
Solved the problem. The wire from the trailer hitch got pinched and grounded out the brake circuit. Replaced the fuse and re routed the wire and problem solved.
The van is being used by our Fire Dept. and someone hooked the tiedown strap in a hole but neglected to make sure no wires were underneath it before the strap was cinched down. I'll yell at them later. LOL
for future info the inter lock is on top of the steering column
down low near the brake pedal area
to disable it all that is needed is to unplug it
it is a small solenoid device with one wire
it is only energized when the key is on and
is turned off when the brake pedal is pushed
