Broken Spring perch
My 97 XLT extracab has just torn out most of the front rear spring perch on the passenger side. Looks like a combo of rust & metal fatigue. The middle of the perch (and the spring) are banging the bottom of the bed, but the edges of it along with all the rivets are still attached to the frame. A friend told me that a good spring shop will make pretty short work of this.
Sound reasonable?

If you have a torch or something to cut out the old rivets, it's not a tough job. I did some similar replacement work on an f250 recently. Most difficult part was removing the bolt that holds the spring to the perch ...
