I have to replace my side glass on my 1993 f150 in the rear seat due to my sons golf slice. Can the glass be replaced easily by myself or do I have to take it to a glass prof.? Their cost is $450.00. I can get the glass for $20.00 at the local Ford salvage yard. He said this unit is bolted in?? Anyone have directions on getting old window out and putting new in? Thanks
its not hard , you need to remove the 1/4 trim and unbolt whats left of the old window . you need to get new sealer , its a rope style urathane strip . just make sure you clean off all the old sealer .
$450 for the side window...seriously? That sounds WAY HIGH. Maybe the new glass is a lot more than I thought. As jk89cat said, it's a really easy fix. Do it yourself.
that's ridiculous...I'll duct tape plexiglass over it before I drop $600 on a side window. Tempered glass is expensive and it costs more to tint it, but $600? I need to get into the auto glass business.
