Hey guys, my 99 awd Expy will vibrate/shudder when taking off in a turn, like pulling out of a driveway/ parking lot or something into traffic, it feels like its in the front end, on the left side? any suggestions?
sounds like the exact same problem i am struggling with in my 2000 Navi 4x4. it is the transfer case. the shutter seems like it comes from the front, but is actually in the middle, under your feet. you will need to drain the case as stated above and hopefully this will fix your problems, if they just started
Well I guess I am going to drain and replace my Transfer case fluid, Expy has a little shudder when turning and been told that it would be a good start, any cocerns or sugestions, I havent even been under this truck yet, but delt with transfer cases before, does it have a drain, or am I pulling a cover off or what? !1999 Expy, 5.4, 121,000 miles and probably never been done....Thanks!
Are your tires worn out? I know I had the same problem and it was due to the fact that the front tires were a slightly different diameter compared to the rear. It confues the a4wd system and engages your front driveline. Once I put new shoes on her, everything drove normal again. Try rotating them as well.
I had a a shudder in my 97 expy when taking off and turning, Turned out that I needed to add friction modefier to the rear. Once I did that it was good as new. Do you have a L/S rear? if so I would try that first. good luck and hope it helps.
