While my X is a gaser, my commuter is not (2002 VW JETTA TDI). When i bought it back then, i was filling the car (With venting ~ To any VW guys!!!) for under $30.00.
Well, it has finally happened. This morning, It costs me over $62.00 to fill my car. That is the first time i have had to pay over $60.00 to fill the car. That is absolutely ridiculous. Between my wife and I commuting, we spent over $430.00 a month on gas. And that does not include the X. Add to that the two bills in the last 30 days for eating oil at $410.00 and $281.00 plus a propane fill at $180.00 and you are looking at ALLOT of money on fuels.
that is a ton of fuel money. I guess that is why those exec's at exxon and shell drive gassers that cost 200K. My wife and I have very high fuel bill as well. This is getting ridiculous. The average hard working man who has worked hard for what he has will not be able to enjoy it much longer if this keep up.
On the 5th diesel fuel went up 15 cents in one day wholesale. NY diesel was 3.94 a gallon wholesale a few days ago..at the beginning of the Feb it was 3.379.
I just bought my Excursion this past Wednesday, so I'm beginning to notice these things.
Test-driving the Excursion, I noticed a filling-station nearby had diesel for $3.79. On the way back to the lot a few hours later to pick up the Excursion, it read $3.99.
Then I calculated what it would cost to fill the 44-gallon tank with $4/gallon fuel if I ever ran it empty...
