Assistant Chapter Leader?

Hey folks, I have some stuff that will have me away from the boards in April and then again in August. This is finishing up my second year as Kansas CL and I was thinking about givin someone else a chance at it. Hate to hog the good stuff all to myself. It has been great and I enjoyed it more than I can put into words. But I think it's bout time to start thinking about a change.

What I'd like to do is to see if anyone would like to step up for this. We could do it a couple of different ways. If someone would like to be an assistant CL and take over some stuff like the April GTG and and stuff that goes with that. Or if you'd like to go ahead and take over I still plan on being around this place and help out where ever I can.

You folks all know me and Baskin Robbins 31 flavors. Just think it's time for a different flavor is all. Not any bad stuff in this, just think maybe were ready something else.

Let me know if you'd like to do this and we'll work it out from there.

dont sell yourself short, you have done a HELL of a job. As long as the new person keeps up with you, we will continue to be one of the best chapters on fte. (AND FTE KNOWS IT!)

Thanks for the kind words. You all of you folks in the KS Chapter made it easy for more. I have no plans to leave. Just like to give a chance to someone else.

Chapter leader sounds like one of those thankless jobs that no one wants to do, but everyone silently appreciates that someone else is doing. Kindof like doing the paperwork for your Grandpa.

You are doing a heck of a job Jack, but I can see why you want to pass it on.

(And no, I never did do the paperwork, but Chad did. )

You are going to want me to explain that publically, aren't you? You're evil!

Let's just say I EARNED my inheritance, and my place in heaven by taking care of my ill grandfather, by doing "Paperwork" in the bathroom. The flowered - rolled kind of paper... UM.... well ......

OK OK I wiped his butt... Something some of his other grandchildren wouldn't do.... (And you where still the favorite... Go figure???)

Jack I discussed it with the wifey, and I would be up for an assistant CL role... I think you do an awsome job- so "assistant" is the key word. "You still be the man" as it were...

I think it should be a chapter descision... if need be- a poll and voting - if there are others wanting to step up for the job too. Actually I have a couple in mind that would be good for the job... We shoul set an end date for "nominations" and have anyone who wishes to be in the running PM you? Or post here? What ever -- I'm just making this up as I go...
Set a date (April Fools day Maybe?) for the voting to end... and the "KS CL VEEP" starts his/her reign.

One time at church a number of years ago I made the mis-statement that I would "sponsor" a youth group if they couldn't find anybody else. GUESS WHAT!!!

Flip I think you just got yourself another job and I support it 100%.

I don't make enough g2g's to even entertain the idea of "CLA". But I do support the poll idea if others want the chance.

I vote for Chad, cause if he is busy, Bob, Alice, or Flip can take over.

Guess I needed to splain it some more. I intend to step down as CL between now and the fall of this year. This is fun big old KS Ford truck to drive and I think we are ready for a new wheel man.

I do not intend to leave the KS chapter and as long as I'm around I will support the POTM and TOTGTG programs that I started. The new CL will get the GTG box stocked with he normal GTG stuff and the Chapter funds we have built up.

We have lots of good folks in the KS Chapter that would make good CL's.
And you don't have to be able to do everything yourself. Some of you remember that Rollie had a Wichita area and KC area rep. I can tell you from being the KS CL that you will have folks to help you. There is a CL board that is in great shape and has a lot of good info.

So now what we have to do is the deciding. The who's and when's and all that. If folks would like to test drive the job we could do that. Let who ever wants take turns at stuff. Or if we have someone who is ready to step up right now we could do that also. Or anything in between.

The thing is with me being out in Utah most of April and gone in August to Colorado I figured that this was a good time to start this thread. The folks who have been to GTG's over the last few months have heard about this. And you know that there are no bad feelings attached to this.

I think that Chad would make a great CL. I also think that Jeromy is doing a great job of keeping things going here as well, and Jack has done an excellent job. I guess I don't have a point. Cheers to all.....LOL.

(I am in for the poll idea, although I haven't heard anyone else put there name in the hat besides Chad, and I don't think he was putting it in for CL, but an Assistant, but I think he would take CL if pressured).

Maybe I have had too much scotch and need to go to bed. Goodnight.
