Hi There, I'm looking to buy a 1987 Bronco II with 115,000 miles the guy says as it warms up it stalls. He has codes 14 PIP and 18 SPOUT what does these codes mean.I don't know anything about OBD 1 only OBD II.Can anyone help before I decide to buy this truck.Thanks.
Those codes indicate a fault in the ignition system. I used to get those codes whenever my TFI module would act up, and the scenario you describe is pretty classic for a bad TFI module.
Code 14 is an Intermittent PIP signal failure
with the emphasis on intermitten.
from experience it can be anything from the
ignition module to a bad plug wire and
everything in between.
The code 18 is most likely a wire or the
connector is loose.
THE 14 can be a real bear to figure out. With
mine it doesn't seem to affect the drivability
just gets annoying,
