If its the 77.5 I got the question licked

If its the EB Fishy might have to take over.

Details help so much.

it's for the 77.5 f250 4x4 d44 front, I currently have the stock drag link set up, my question was: Can i just rotate the pitman arm 90 degrees, so that i can set up cross over steering?

I ask this because it seems like everyone swaps out the stock box for a 2wd or a saginaw, i was just curious.

hey.. youre back!

Ok Ill start from the top.

1st you will need a STOCK F150 (150 not a 250) pitman arm. Unless you have greater than a 6" lift a stock arm is fine. It will need to be "reamed" out to fit a chevy 1 ton TRE which has a 8* taper (machine shop or buy one) Unbolt the dog leg F250 pitman and install the F150 straight pitman facing rearward toward the back driver side tire instead of the front driver side tire as factory. Then you will need your passenger side steering knuckle milled and tapped to accept a crossover steering arm. Most decent machine shops can do that for you. Buy 3' of 1 1/2" .250 DOM tubing (DOM not sch 40 or 80) 1- LH 7/8x18tpi weld in insert and 1- RH 7/8x18tpi weld in insert with the jamb nuts and 1-2027 Chevy TRE and 1-2026 Chevy TRE.

once the pitman arm is bolted on and the passenger side steering arm is bolted on I attached both TREs in place and measured the distance between half the thread including the weld in inserts. Then I cut the DOM and welded it all up. Its actually pretty easy.

One problem you may encounter with the D44 (Im not sure I did it on a D60) is the passenger side steering arm hitting the passenger side shock. I relocated mine to the rear of the axle by cutting the bracket off and welding it back on and moveing the top mount back to match. Pretty easy as well.

Ive got like 20 or more pics of the process plus a truck in the drive way I can pull measurements from or take more pics if needed. My email is in my sig if you want any additional info.
