I bought 2 alum intakes off e-bay; a Edelbrock performer & a Offy
duel-port for a 400M. I noticed that the Offenhauser intake does't
have a coolant passage across the front of the intake like the performer & factory intake. The side mounting rails just extend out enuf to plug off the water passage in the heads.I guess if i had a coolant flow chart for a 351m400......i would know. Will i have cooling probs with Offy intake ?????
I don't know what you have, and anybody correct me if I'm wrong, but 351c, 351m and 400's do not have coolant passages in the intake manifold, because there are no coolant passages coming from the head. What are you working on?
None of the 335-series engines (351C, 351M, 400) have coolant flow through the intake manifold.
The passage you are referring to is for the Thermactor AIR (i.e., smog pump) system. The Offy manifold just blocks it off since it is not essential for performance, and apparently they weren't concerned about emissions legality.
