whistle at startup

whistle at startup
Just a little while ago i was getting in my truck coming home from the gym. put the key in and i got this loud whistle type noise. i turned the key off and turned it in the on position "not starting the truck" and again a loud whistle type noise. i did it a third and fouth time and nothing. this is the first time it has done this is it something i should be worried about it has 23k and plugged in every night since i am in CT. any ideas??

We would need more info than this? Any DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) you can retrieve? With NOTHING to go on, I am guessing the HPOP (High Pressure Oil Pump). You need to get the truble codes - matbe local auto parts store can loan you something?
In reality, at your mileage, get it in to the dealership service department!! - it is under warranty (unless you have something really unique about your purchase).
Let us know how it turns out. The high pitched noise and the no-start has been the HPOP for previous posters. Where is the noise coming from - under or near the Turbo?

yea this is a different noise that was when i was driving this is when i put the key on the on position without starting the truck. i will check it today see what happens. it is going in to the dealership monday will mention this to them.

I'm thinking vacuum pump w/cracked hose... It just popped into my head as a strong possibility considering the sound manifested when air rushes through a small opening (crack). I'll wait with the rest to learn of the cause.

hahahaha no, it was for size......one of the mods asked me to make it smaller so ppl with dial-up could load faster..........haven't had the chance to make it smaller yet.
