Well after a lot of time on the phone. . . arrrrgg! And a lot of pictures taken and sent. . . taking taking wheels off and putting factory ones back on(looks so goofy) wheelpros(the distributor for tiresdelivered.com) has decided that while they don't normally warrenty corrosion. . . they will this time. I'm like they freakin better! However, I have to pay shipping both ways. . . and dismount, remount and balance of the new wheels. So I'm still paying about 400 bucks. Tiresdelivered said they would not cover the cost of shipping or mounting. . . as it is not in their policy. I tried to get a refund on the wheels so I could buy them from a local shop. . . they would not do that. After tons of time on the phone with the guy, and after him telling me that he wants to help out and keep my business and is open to suggestions. . . I asked him to chip in for the shipping and mounting. After a while he got back to me and said no. I told him that I would ship the wheels to him, and he could ship me new ones. . . and I would never do business with them again and let people know it. . . or he could help out with the shipping a little. Nope. . . so my advice to everybody is this. . . .do not buy wheels or tires or anything like that offline. It may be a little more to go to discount tire or some other shop. . . but when you run into this problem(which I fully expect to run into again 8 months down the road) its so much easier to just drop off the wheels at the dealer and say take care of it. No shipping. . . none of that. Deal with people you can actually see to talk to. Internet businesses suck!
Tim
Sorry to hear about that Tim, but i guarantee if you got your stuff from Supertyte, he'd warranty it. I dealed with Robert Lopez twice and spent over $5000 there and i know he'd take care of anyone.
Man, that sucks. Thanks for the tip though. This is one of the reasons why I wanted to buy my new tires from actual store and not some guy running the business out of his apartment.
Tim -That does suck- Did you mention this site to him and tell him how many guys might buy his wheels if he works with you on the s&h cost? Thanks for the heads up either way
Well, glad you got some results. Did you ever consider telling them you want a refund? I would have tried that and fought it with the credit card company for a refund...like you said, they will do this again. If they sell the wheels stating they will not corrode, as they are chromed, then the product did not perform as advertised=refund. That's ashame...Good luck.
That's why I prefer to pay extra for a store I can walk in to for most things. We do have some great sponsors here, and after hearing excellent reviews from others I will purchase from those sponsors, but for the most part I prefer a place where I can go to and become the RPITA instead of just another phone call.
