Cruise Control

Tried posting this earlier dont know where it went. Sorry if this pops up twice. Here is my question. On my 2008 6.4 cruise control. I set the mph at say oh 65mph, touch the brake to disengage, slot down to approx 40-45mph, touch the resume button and nothing, However if I slow to 50mph and resume it works fine. Is 50mph the min for resume to work????

I haven't checked this on my truck, but have noticed on other vehicles that most require you to be within 15 mph of the set speed or it will either kick off or not resume. So if you have the cruise set to 45 you have to be above 30 to resume. If you have it set to 65 mph and are pulling a load up a hill the cruise will disengage if the truck slows below 50 mph, and you can't resume until back above 50 mph.

Also, I believe most cruise controls won't work at all below 25 or 30 mph.

I assume these are safety features to stop somebody from tapping the brakes to slow down from 55-65 coming into town and then being stupid and hitting the resume button while cruising around at 25 in town and suddenly getting a surge of acceleration into another car.

I read this a while back on another forum but keep forgetting to try it. However, if you have experienced this, you aren't the only one, so 50 mph might be the limit on resume.

I have noticed this type of thing but never paid close enough attention as to when or what speeds it wouldn't resume at

I asked about this same issue @ my first service appointment. Answer was it was something to do with safety.
seems as though if you slow down more than 10 mph it's not safe to use the resume button to get back up to speed. Go figure. My '99 didn't seem to be unsafe coming from 30 back up to 65, and the cruise was more consistant and didn't break your neck.

Wow, my 2000 would not resume from anywhere less than 10-15 mph from the set speed.

BTW, when I hit resume on the '08 it slams me back in the seat compared to the 2000. And the 2000 had the fullblown Banks kit on it.
